Students in the Gifted and Talented Alpha II program from schools across the Clear Creek Independent School District show off their Advertising and Design class t-shirts sporting the winning logo representing a semester of what they have learned. The fifth-graders chose the marketing-themed class from a variety of subjects ranging from Field Biology to Space Science. The Alpha II classes, held weekly in classrooms provided by the University of Houston-Clear Lake, offer students the opportunity to study under the guidance of a trained specialist in the subject of choice. Graphic artist Brenda Faxel mentored the Advertising and Design class. The winning t-shirt design by Neha Sunkara, was chosen by the class and incorporated elements including the class name, the semester, the Alpha II program and the UH-Clear Lake logo. The second place design was by Kati Lochhead.
