UH-Clear Lake’s Office of Communications, a part of the Office of University Advancement, promotes university relations by communicating UHCL news, information and messages to key constituents.

Communications staff members provide a broad range of services in the areas of media relations, social media, publications, online publishing projects and institutional identity. In addition to producing and distributing an average of 30 news releases every month, the office produces UHCL’s bi-annual magazine, Egret, and the university’s Donor Honor Roll. It also coordinates general institutional advertising in an array of business, community and news organizations’ communication vehicles. Additionally, the office works with its sister institutions on system-wide marketing communications initiatives.

Graduate wants to turn island research into book

After Hurricane Ike ransacked so many Galveston historic landmarks, graduate student Claiborne Fant focused beyond the damage to photograph a remarkable recovery. Fant, now a graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake’s program in professional writing and graphic design, hopes the photographs and research she assembled for her master’s project will become a published book. The work would be a tribute to the can-do spirit of the island.

No tuition hike next year for UHCL students

UH-Clear Lake students and their families got some good news when the University of Houston System Board of Regents met this past week – their undergraduate tuition will stay at its current rate for the next school year.
