Graduate wants to turn island research into book

After Hurricane Ike ransacked so many Galveston historic landmarks, graduate student Claiborne Fant focused beyond the damage to photograph a remarkable recovery. Fant, now a graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake’s program in professional writing and graphic design, hopes the photographs and research she assembled for her master’s project will become a published book. The work would be a tribute to the can-do spirit of the island.
