UH-Clear Lake hosts Welcome Back Bash

Welcome Back Bash
Get ready for a new school year at University of Houston-Clear Lake during the Welcome Back Bash Aug. 31, 5-9 p.m. in UH-Clear Lake’s Alumni Plaza, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston. University students and alumni, as well as their friends and family, can participate in the free event sponsored by the Office of Alumni and Community Relations and the Office of Student Life.

Fun for all at the event will include carnival-style games and activities that include a ball toss, a photo booth, face painting and more. University community partners such as the JSC Federal Credit Union will participate, with displays and activities also presented by the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Army. More than 30 student, staff and UH-Clear Lake alumni organizations will participate.

“This is a great opportunity for students to bring their families and introduce them to their classmates, or for new students to experience the university outside of the classroom,” says Coordinator of Student Life - Orientation and New Student Programs Ali Albrecht.

“We hope that our 53,000-plus alumni and more than 8,000 students will bring their families and celebrate the beginning of a new academic year at UHCL,” says Coordinator of Special Events Kris Thompson. “Alumni who attend should definitely stop by the Alumni Association booth and find out about all the activities and benefits that are available to them.”

Alumni are urged to bring their alumni membership cards and receive a 2012 Welcome Back Bash T-shirt while supplies last. Students and alumni can also participate in the UHCL class photo taken near the plaza at 6:30 p.m.
