UHCL offers tutoring for grades 1-12
January 14, 2013
University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Center for Educational Programs is offering one-to-one tutoring for students in grades 1-12 in the areas of reading, writing, spelling and study skills improvement beginning Feb. 12.
The clinic is designed to build on the reading and writing foundation already developed for students who no more than three years below grade level in their reading/writing. Those who are reading/writing above grade level and wish to further enhance their skills may also be admitted. The tutoring is administered by School of Education students under the close supervision of university faculty.
Students accepted for tutoring will be administered diagnostic tests, as necessary, to determine specific strengths and needs. Parents and tutors will meet regularly to discuss student progress, and at the completion of tutoring, a final conference will be held with a summary progress report sent to parents.
Sessions are offered on Tuesday or Thursday, 5 – 6:30 p.m., in the university’s Arbor Building, suite A1300.01. The fee is $300 per student. Space is limited. For more information or to register, visit http://kidsu.uhcl.edu
