University of Houston-Clear Lake financial aid experts will be on hand during College Goal Sunday, Feb. 12, 2-4 p.m.
Filling out the forms to make college dreams a reality does not have to be as ominous as it seems. University of Houston-Clear Lake financial aid experts will be on hand during College Goal Sunday, Feb. 12, 2-4 p.m., in the university’s Student Services and Classroom Building, room 2201, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, to help current and future students from throughout the area complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

“UH-Clear Lake is one of more than 30 locations participating in the Texas College Goal Sunday event,” says UH-Clear Lake Executive Director of Student Financial Aid Billy Satterfield. “Our goal is to help students and their families complete the federal student aid paper work, but they will also gain information about grants, scholarship, loans and other ways the federal and state government can help them pay for college.”

Students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a financial aid expert to complete the Free Applications for Federal Student Aid. Everyone who applies is eligible to receive some sort of financial assistance for their education. College Goal Sunday is committed to removing financial need as a barrier to higher education and encourages students to take advantage of this free workshop to get a jumpstart on securing their financial aid for the next academic year. Participants are welcome from any college or university, not just UH-Clear Lake.

Each registered participant at College Goal Sunday also will be eligible to win $250 toward their fall 2012 textbooks at any college or university they choose to attend.
